CARL LEBLANC - NEW ORLEANS' SEVENTH WARD GRIOT

Carl LeBlanc
“New Orleans' Seventh Ward Griot”
$15.00

Born and raised in New Orleans’ musically fertile Seventh Ward, Carl LeBlanc cut his teeth playing guitar in neighborhood Rhythm and Blues bands in the sixties. After attending Southern University, Carl went on to perform graduate work at New York’s Columbia University, eventually landing a coveted spot in Sun Ra’s Arkestra for several years. This recording features mostly original compositions sung and performed by Carl on his guitar and the banjo that was passed on to him by legendary PHJB member Narvin Kimball.
